It’s not a stretch to say that 2020 has been, and remains an unprecedented year for our great country.
Fortunately, I’m a believer in the principle that crisis creates opportunity – for individuals, for organizations and communities.
The events of this year created an opportunity for Aurora Energy Solar to rethink our organizational structure and adjust our goals – to retool them to fit the humans behind the process, and the needs of the customers we serve. Here is what we were reminded of.

Providing for our families and the legacy we leave to them is critical. That is why we understand and prioritize your needs too.
Now more than ever, we are focused on Quality over Quantity.
Here is what that means for our Customers in 2021:
- We will not install a solar system under 5kW, and we will not install any system unless it can save you a minimum of 25% on your costs. If there is no long term value for our customers, we will not do the job.
- We no longer offer direct financing. Solar financing is too expensive for our customers and the terms are unfair. Instead, we connect our customers to several affordable financing options and programs that allow you to save money on the cost of your installation and on interest and fees. Did you know that direct solar financing typically adds 20% in dealer fees to the cost of the project — which are then passed on to the customer? This typically adds up to thousands of dollars.
- We will be shifting 75% of our resources to commercial installations, large ranches and agricultural properties in 2021. Large-scale solar installations increase the capacity of the solar grid in California AND commercial organizations support our rural towns. Now more than ever, Mother Lode businesses need a boost in savings and productivity. That way, they will be able to continue to employ our local workforce and keep families solvent while contributing to local taxes. We want to help local businesses become more cashflow positive with solar and energy improvements and the many tax credits and incentives available to them in 2021.
- We will continue to work with residential customers in our local rural areas on a case by case basis — especially those with medical PGE; rural properties or wells in Calaveras or Tuolumne County, Sonora, Angels Camp, and other areas of the Mother Lode region; High Fire Danger zones; or in areas where there are Government-sponsored loan programs (like PACE) available. You may be surprised at what solar incentives you qualify for! Ask us. We are experts and can help you figure it out!
